My teaching ethos
My teaching is shaped around the following values:
Torah of life
The Torah I teach should be joyful and affirmative, leading each student to strive to be a better person.
Torah “according to your way” (Proverbs / Mishlei 21:6)
I take time to get to know each student and tailor my teaching to meet their specific place, needs and interests.
Torah for today
The Torah I teach should be relevant and real in today’s world and for each student.
Torah of the world
Judaism doesn’t exist in a vacuum. My teaching takes inspiration from the world around – in particular art, poetry, philosophy and the insights of other faiths.
Torah of curiosity
Questioning is as important as answering for me, and no question is off-limits. I strive to always be intellectually honest, and centre my teaching around texts and sources.
